The Arc of the Blancos is the Eastern gate of the wall of the city, constructed in 13th century by Alfonso X the Wise. This wall was of rubblework and lime, with battlements and towers; formed by three walls that they gave to the west, to the north and the east, the South part was without covering not to be necessary, due to the difficult of its access.
This gate, in form of pointed arc and vault of tube, gave to the zone of isthmus, reason why was also denominated Gate of Land, later was called gate of Santa Maria, since it gave the suburb of this name.
In 17th century it had to be recovered. In 1621 a family of retailers, the Blanco, requested permission to establish here a chapel dedicated to the Virgin of the Remedies, finalized in 1635 and today lost; it is only conserved the inner part of the arc.

El Arco de los Blancos es la puerta oriental de la muralla de la ciudad, construida en el siglo XIII por Alfonso X el Sabio. Dicha muralla era de mampostería y cal, almenada y con torres; formada por tres lienzos que daban al oeste, al norte y al este, la parte sur quedaba sin cubrir por no ser necesaria, debido a los difícil de su acceso.
Esta puerta, en forma de arco apuntado y bóveda de cañón, daba a la zona del istmo, por lo que se denominó también Puerta de Tierra, posteriormente fue llamada de Santa María, ya que daba al arrabal de dicho nombre.
En el siglo XVII debió ser restaurada. En 1621 una familia de comerciantes, los Blanco, pidió permiso para establecer en ella una capilla dedicada a la Virgen de los Remedios, finalizada en 1635 y hoy perdida; sólo se conserva la parte interior del arco.
